Meet Connie Dickinson

Connie joined the Lyfe Studio team in June and we thought you should get to know her too!

Position: Graphic Designer

From: Manchester

Question Time:

We’ve asked Connie some candid questions about work and life. Enjoy getting to know her, as we are.

What drew you to design, branding, or creative work in the first place?

The creative classes in school were the subjects I enjoyed the most, so when it came time to decide what I wanted to do, I knew I wanted to be in the creative industry.

What’s one part of the creative process you enjoy most, and why?

I weirdly enjoy the research part of the design process the most. It’s when a project has no set direction yet and using that research to narrow the ideas down is really satisfying.

What kind of project or client challenge gets you especially excited?

Getting to work on branding for a project is really exciting for me. I’ve not been out of university long, so getting to know the amount of depth and work that goes into it is mega.

How would you describe your design style or creative approach in three words?

Intentional, bold, versatile.

What’s one thing you’ve learned so far in your career that has shaped how you work?

One thing I’ve learned is to stand up for my ideas when I think they’re genuinely good and would work better than the alternative.

What do you hope clients feel when they work with you?

I just hope they wind up with a product that they’re really happy with.

Who or what inspires you outside of work?

Cringey but my mum has always been my biggest inspiration outside of work.

What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?

People are always shocked by my height when they meet me for the first time.

When you’re not working, where are we most likely to find you?

Probably at home, if i can avoid leaving the house for something I will.

What’s your go-to recommendation: a book, film, podcast, place, restaurant, or playlist?

I think about the Throne of Glass book series at least once a week and think everyone should read it.
